Hello everybody!! I know this blog is called From Away and it’s supposed to be a travel blog about an amazing 6 month trip across Europe and Asia. However, during this three-week break from school due to Covid-19, I’ve been bored so I have decided to come back to the blog for the school break. I will write what I am doing off from school and give tips on how to stay entertained during this long break from school or work. I am deciding to call my posts From Home. So far, I have had a pretty entertaining 3 days. On Saturday, we cycled to Bloor Street and bought groceries. Also it was Pi Day! The first three digits of pi are 3.14 and it was 3/14. For Pi Day, my Mom and I made an apple Pie and BTW, I know the first 101 digits of pi. I’ll save you the trouble of looking at 101 digits of pi. On Sunday, we went for a neighbourhood jog for some exercise. We also watched an episode of Survivor season 26 (we are going to binge watch it over the break). Today (Monday), we went skiing at Hockley Valley. We were hoping to go to a different ski hill but due to Covid-19, basically all ski hills except Hockley Valley near us were closed. Luckily, Hockley was open for one more day then most ski hills and we went on the day it was closing. I have reached my max GBs of photos but I will try my best to describe stuff as best as I can. Feel free to leave comments and I will try to respond to them as soon as I can. What are you doing to stay entertained? Signing off, Evan.

Thanks for posting Evan! We could definitely use some good reading material for the next few weeks. I’m trying to entertain a 9 month old baby at home… lots of toys, singing and tummy time. Hoping she’ll learn how to crawl while we’re stuck inside 🙂

Hi Evan! It is the Haber family, and on Tuesday my Mom (Karina) is taking us to the Humber River. Yesterday we made tie dye shirts and pillow cases, and we made a Lemon Blueberry Loaf (yum:)). We are washing them today and they should be ready by this afternoon. On Sunday, we dropped off a gift for our friend because we missed her party on Saturday. When we dropped off the gift, her Mom gave us two cupcakes, two slices of cake and two workbooks!!!!
We’ve also watched a lot of TV so far….and yesterday we subscribed to the Disney Plus Channel for free for two weeks! Maybe you could try to do this too 🙂
Let’s keep in touch! And thank you for posting!
Love xoxo

Ev,
I am so happy you are blogging again as I enjoy your creative mind and writing skills. For instance I had no idea there were 101 pi numbers. Just tell me two of them and I will try to figure out the sequence. My challenge.
For your project, I want you to write the editor of the travel section of the New York Times and offer them your travel blogs for future kids going to Asia

Nice one Ev. Will quiz you on Pi when (if?) we see you in a few weeks. I went outside and shot baskets with a couple of friends and LJ is pretty fun right now. We do a lot of listening to music, singing and dancing. She is really into make believe and stuffies also. Denise’s bee baby is still pretty popular. LJ now also pretends to read to us in gibberish which is pretty hilarious. We are preparing for the new addition so will try to move some furniture around today. We are worried about how LJ will feel when she has to share our attention. Do you remember how you felt when Denise came along? We celebrated an early Pi day my last day at work where the math and science departments brought various pies (and cookies!) in. There was some Shepards pie (plus veggie option), chicken pot pie, rasberry pie and apple pie. I’m pretty into pie. Do you have a favorite pie?

Great to start up the blog again Evan. I’ll look forward to finding out what you and the family are up to. Because the weather has been sunny we have started playing pickleball outdoors. In normal times at the end of a game the protocol is for all 4 players to approach the net and touch paddles, as a way of saying thank you for the game, but for now there is no touching and people are just waving their paddles in the air or bowing. I like the idea of pie on Pi day!!
Love to all

EVAN! Great to see you back on the blog. I had no idea there was such a thing as Pi day but it makes a lot of sense now (and I’ll be ready next year). I’m looking forward to hearing more about what you’re up to during this time.
